SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for customer support, detailed design and implementation of data network solutions based on a specific infrastructure. They are expected to have intermediate knowledge/skills in all aspects of Network Infrastructure. This position is expected to be able to multi-task and prioritize their workload independently. They will be able to address and resolve moderate to complex problems. The Senior Network Engineer will solicit instruction or input as needed from superiors. They are also expected to work directly with the customers in order to ensure a quality solution is delivered and all issues are identified, escalated and resolved in a proactive manner. This position will execute and continuously improve established processes.

The Senior Network Engineer acts as the liaison between customers and other organization functions (e.g. application development, support services) and is responsible for providing expertise in more than one technology, single tool, mid-size application or business function. This position receives direction from a Team Lead or Department Manager to understand customer requirements. This position is located in Nashville, TN.

SPECIFIC EXPECTATIONS OF A SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER:

- Responsible for customer support, detailed design and implementation of data network solutions based on a specific infrastructure.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Able to multi-task and prioritize work for self and/or small team independently
- Able to resolve complex problems seeking guidance when necessary
- Analyzes, designs and implements data integration solutions based upon customer requirements
- Analyzes and provides utilities or tools to monitor and manage data integration processes
- Supports and troubleshoots problems with network infrastructure
- Participates in research, evaluation and upgrades of third-party vendor database management, data replication and transformation software
- Act as a liaison between customers, development teams, support organizations, other groups, or vendors
- Perform product analysis work for specific application products that anticipate, identify, diagnose and address specific issues
- Plan system requirement recommendations to customer and Product Managers to enhance product processes and tools.
- Participate in meetings between customer groups and others; identify issues affecting team progress and recommend solutions
- Plan and create communications such as Work Agreements, Solution Proposals with minimal supervision
- Ensure resolution of complex customer operational issues
- Participate in the resolution of issues and in managing risks affecting the project.

REQUIREMENTS:

- The perfect candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, Windows 2000/2003, Symantec AV, firewalls, etc.
- MCSE/2000/2003, and Cisco (CCNA min, CCNP, etc) certification is required.

NECESSARY JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- These senior level network engineers will have a minimum of 10 yrs experience.
- Cisco Certified — Routing and Switching
- Strong Relationship management skills
- Strong IT systems building development skills
- IT Strategic planning and integration planning skills at a product level
- Strong communication skills
- Strong project management / leadership skills (ability to motivate teams with diverse personnel)
- Flexibility to work with multiple business functions/capabilities (i.e. HR, Finance, Legal & Commercial, etc.)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

-6-10+ years related experience

The Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer is responsible for customer support, good incident management, communication and troubleshooting skills are essential. They are expected to have intermediate knowledge/skills in all aspects of Network Infrastructure. This position is expected to be able to multi-task and prioritize their workload independently. They will be able to address and resolve moderate to complex problems. They will be expect to assist users and other IS personnel over the phone, via e-mail, and remote desktop connection. Customer service and prompt attention to users' needs is expected. Also be expected to work directly with the customers in order to ensure any needs are addressed and all issues are identified, escalated and resolved in a proactive manner. This position will execute and continuously improve established processes.

• The Hours of Operation of the NOC is 7 AM to 7 PM CST Monday - Friday

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Able to multi-task and prioritize work for self and/or small team independently
• Primary point of contact for all incoming trouble reports, service requests and customer communication for any service related issues.
• Coordinate customer contact for trouble notifications, updates and resolutions, as well as any necessary customer contact for the completion of service requests. This includes both email and telephone based communications.
• Analyzes and provides utilities or tools to monitor and manage data integration processes
• Supports and troubleshoots problems with network infrastructure
• Participates in research, evaluation and upgrades of third-party vendor database management, data replication and transformation software
• Act as a liaison between customers, development teams, support organizations, other groups, or vendors
• Experience with network monitoring tools (MOM, SMS, PRTG).
• Basic network troubleshooting skills (ping, tracert, nslookup, etc.)
• Monitoring of clients networks and troubleshoot and client support
• Ensure resolution of complex customer operational issues
• Participate in the resolution of issues and in managing risks affecting the project.

REQUIREMENTS:

• The perfect candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, Windows 2000/2003, Symantec AV, firewalls, etc.
• MCSE/2000/2003, and Cisco (CCNA min, CCNP, etc) certification is a plus.
